Day 33

A shower, trach removal and a Mountain Dew. Could life get any better?

Hubby brought the Big Kid sushi from "their" favorite restaurant (got an ok from the dietician). He also brought his hair clippers and beard trimmer.

So the two had Dude Night last night. A little sushi, a little manscaping and a couple of episodes of NCIS.

Can't wait to see how the kid looks when I get there this morning.

Happy Thanksgiving to your family! Life's good, he?

I'm loving the good news! As for the times when he's staring off and seems unfocused, it takes time to recover. Try to look at it this way...if you have a leg in a cast, the muscles atrophy a bit. And yeah, I'm betting you're right that the meds are a bit off but he hasn't been using his brain at its fullest capacity for a month. Everyone heals at their own pace, you've been patient this long, I'm sure you can be for awhile longer. xo

I hope you're feeling better too!

BK looks bright-eyed and bushy-faced to me, and he's probably hankerin' for some Thanksgiving sushi.

And I agree with Rootie: life is good.

Oh my word. What a gorgeous boy! You would not even know he'd been to hell and back by looking at that photo if you didn't already know. He looks stunningly healthy! And happy!

Thumbs up indeed.

Oh, I am so happy for you and him and your whole family, Attila. So happy. What a Thanksgiving to remember.

And, high fives on the sushi. That just proves how awesome Big Kid is.

Ah, I kinda like his blue lips, Attila. I am so happy for your family, the best Christmas present ever. Now, I hope you put old Pa Ingalls back on the bookshelf....that selfish git :) and enjoy Big Kid.

How awesome to see him sitting up! I am sure you are over the moon!

I've been following but not commenting, did not know what to say. I experienced something very similar when I was in my 20s, it was a long long road to recovery.
