Day 16

Yesterday was a good day. No changes, but each day he gets a little bit better. He has an infection in one of the lines that goes into his chest, but they're going to take care of that with antibiotics and move it to his arm.

Ever noticed that healing metaphors often refer to places...ie; out of the woods, turn the corner, on the road to recovery, light at the end of the tunnel?

I don't think I've heard so many in so short of time. ;-)

Did I ever tell you guys how much I appreciate your support? I do. More than I can ever say.

Although Rogan is still very much under the weather, he does feel he's not quite as bad as he was. If I hadn't been following your blog I might have been more hesitant about taking him to see the doctor and just assumed he had a cold. I'm glad I took him.

So along with all the supportive ((HUGS)) I can give you online for you, Big Kid and the rest of your family, I also want to thank you for blogging about the whole experience rather than just going offline until it was over

Perhaps healing metaphors are pedestrian because the goal is to create a visual image of something a person can easily relate when under stress…

Kim Ayers made an excellent observation in that your verbalizing the ordeal your family is undergoing with Big Kid’s battle against H1N1 is no doubt helping others be more cognizant of potential symptoms and to act quickly if there’s any possibility of having contacted the disease.

The daily (((hugs))) to you and your family.

I hope the corner has been turned, the rest of the road is smooth and the darkness of the woods is behind you. Wishing you sunshine in the days ahead.

He's a bit snowed under right now, with the sedative.

Ya'll are lost in a fog with all of this. But you are his Rock of Gilbraltar right now.

There should be a sign outside his door that says, "If you are feeling under the weather, steer clear."

But, every day he is stable. And you are finding out how strong you can be, how much family loves him and you. And that, in and of itself can the silver lining.

It looks he is improving. And a red sky at night, which is a sailor's delight.

There is a ray of hope.

(that's all the metaphors I can think of ;)

Take care!
