Extreme Makeover, Part 3

Well, we're into day 4 of the Attila home makeover. Scroll down if you want to see Part 1 and 2.

Blogging buddy Annie Drogynous asked me this morning how it was going.

5 large humans. 1 working bathroom.

I probably shouldn't have served Mexican for dinner last night.

But progress is being made! woo hoo! Here are some pics (you can click on them to make them larger):

Out with the old tub....

All that's left is a big gaping hole.

There's my brother tearing out the hideous mosaic countertop.

Now it's all prepped and ready for the new tile!

No, this isn't a picture of my brother's butt. Behind his butt is what used to be the big gaping tub hole. Now it's got all new plumbing and a new tub and is ready to be tiled!

He set up his tile-cutting thing in the bathroom because it's snowing outside and damn it's cold!

Here he is in his funny plastic apron. Isn't he a cutie? Actually he has some kind of crazy Charles Mansonish look in his eye. Prolly because he was adopted.

Stay tuned!

But it'll look great when it's done!

Hi Attila,
Your brother seems to be enjoying his labors! Trying to live through a remodel is hell, but once it’s all over, it’ll have been worth the inconvenience and disarray. You didn’t really serve Mexican food with only one “facility”, did you??

As annoying as it is to be reduced to one bathroom for 5 people, you’re smart to be around while the work is being done. You can watch the progress unfold and make sure things are being done properly. Years ago I had one of my bathrooms redone and decided it’d be easier to be out of town while the renovation was underway. BIG MISTAKE! When I returned, nothing was done the way it was supposed to have been and I was faced with a horrendous mess to clean up.

Good luck!!

It's so much more enjoyable watching the progress of a reno in someone elses' house.

hey are you going to get one of those huge forest shower heads that all has kind of settings in them?

Wasn't that the same apron that Leatherface wore in The TX Chainsaw Massacre?

That Mexican fart joke never gets old, lol. Were the boys tooting the Mexican Hat Dance while working?

Thanks for the mention!

Things are moving along fast, that's soo cool!

The look of your brother might be due to all the dust inhale he does from removing the old stuff... those fungus can really affect you! ;-)

St. Jude beat me to the punch on what I had to say. While Mr. Mayhem is good at many things, carpentry of any type is not one of them! You are lucky you can "keep it in the family" when it comes to these things.
