The Big Thaw

I wanted to thank everyone for all their kind wishes regarding my birthday---I had a great weekend! The highlights involved a New York Cheesecake and a bottle of Grand Marnier (I've recovered now), calls from my family, and a relaxing time with my guys.

It's been over 50 degrees F here for the past couple of days, and finally, FINALLY, some of this snow is starting to melt. I took some pictures from my car, so you can really see how big the drifts are (you can click on them to make them larger).

Hubby marked the entrance to our driveway with his Bronco Pom Poms!

The only problem is that in the last years, the county has scraped the crown off our road while plowing----leaving the snowmelt no place to drain. Can you say mudpie?

I almost got stuck in a big mudhole trying to get out of the driveway yesterday. Oy.

We've got two big assignments due in a couple of days, so I probably won't be posting. But I'll check into your blogs and say hi!

Stay warm!

Glad to hear you enjoyed your birthday!

I hate the snow and I hate it even more now that I saw your pix, lol. Stay warm and safe and get all your work done, young lady!

Still waiting for first snow here. It's hit the rest of the country, but seems to be giving this corner of Scotland a miss

50 degrees, eh? It's been colder than a well digger's butt in the Klondike here. Finally got above zero today for the first time in 5 days.

Belated happy birthday. Thanks for surfin' on by. I agree with Sven above. My computer says it is 5.6 degrees here. But it is supposed to bet a little better.

50 degrees. Wow. That's just hot.

Here, it's cold, and there is snow on the ground. So while driving dirt gets splattered onto your windshield, but your dang fluid is frozen solid so you can't do anything about it. AAARGH

Hi Attila,
Wow, the snow really has started to thaw (melt). These pictures look so different from the ones you posted a couple of weeks ago. How's you deck look?

I'm glad you had a nice family oriented Birthday and ate something sinfully delicious!
