Beautiful...

I'm still hiding out for a little while trying to get a little R & R. I wanted to write something, but I decided to purloin a post from Beth's blog instead.

It's too bad that we live in a system that has to define "norms" with limitations that are so exclusionary, when in truth all of us---you, me, the postman, the lady down the block---are all unique and differently-abled.

Hop on over to Books, Etc and catch the video.

You won't be sorry, I promise.

I am definitely passing this on.

I think I am a zebra with some fish like attitudes....what does that make me??

Hugs to you and your menfolk (even if 2 are gone). Enjoy your respite, and stop chasing hubby long enough to come post once in a while ;)

ATM, thanks for sharing the link! It was so moving; I'm going to have my hubby watch it next. I'll be sure to pass this on. Thank you again.

Thank you. I try hard to appreciate the unique qualities in both Artsy and Sparky, but sometimes it's good to be reminded. :)

This has inspired me to write a letter to my March to a Different Beat oldest child. IQ of 130, high school dropout. He tends to beat himself up about it, but he's just Not The Usual Thing.

This made me sit and bawl--I'm passing it along to about a hundred people.

this is very true - we need to account for the fact that we don't all learn and perform in the same ways. Ideally, if everyone's heart is in the right place and we all make an effort, everyone can bring something to the table and contribute. This is what can make human society such a rich tapestry.
